Evaluation and analysis of corrugated rollers (I)

if you are in the business sea, you have to make money. You must use limited resources to produce products that satisfy customers and create profits. In order to ensure a competitive advantage, you need to find various ways to improve productivity, such as reducing prepress preparation time and costs, reducing consumption, improving printing quality, reducing the replacement of embossing rollers and reducing related printing costs. But if you want to find a miraculous comprehensive solution with high mechanical strength without difficulty, it is impossible. So where should we start? Every step of the production process should be evaluated methodically and objectively, and one of the important items is the evaluation of the corrugated roller

what is the evaluation of the wrinkle roll? The traditional definition refers to that experienced technicians use complex and expensive inspection equipment to comprehensively detect the number of lines, hole volume and hole structure of the wrinkle roll and write a detection report, including micrographs or color schematic diagrams of the hole outline after digitization. The report includes many figures and charts, but there is little real practical information

although it is helpful for the operator to understand the cavity volume of the corrugated roller, are you satisfied with only finding that the corrugated roller has been worn or damaged after inspection? Do you prefer to know the possible causes of the corrugation roll damage and the methods to prevent it? Wrinkle roller is the heart of flexo printing machine, and it is also the focus of attention. The traditional inspection cannot tell the operator the reason of the corrugation roller damage, nor can it put forward suggestions to improve the printing quality. Therefore, you should ask yourself: what exactly do you want from the evaluation of the wrinkle roll

the main body of the evaluation work

the evaluation of the roll during the printing process is more effective than the occasional roll inspection. The correct evaluation includes the strict evaluation of the whole process of the storage, cleaning, use and working conditions of the corrugated roller, which can provide a series of solutions to improve the printing condition and prevent process failures. The view that the evaluation of the corrugated roller should be completed by outsiders (technicians sent by the corrugated roller manufacturer) is wrong. In fact, the evaluation of the embossing roller is an important part of improving the printing quality. Obviously, technicians sent by the roller manufacturer are printing 3 With the new technology and new utilization of packaging materials, it is unreasonable to evaluate the wrinkle roll for several weeks in a row in the brush workshop. Properly trained printer operators can fully monitor the usage of the wrinkle roll in their daily work

tools for evaluating work

1. The specially designed inspection area

should prepare a fixed workbench with appropriate height for the operator, which is more ideal if it is close to the cleaning device

2. The seat frame used to support the corrugation roll Journal

the seat frame can support the corrugation roll so that its surface does not contact the workbench table, and it is also conducive to a comprehensive and safe inspection of the surface of the corrugation roll. The pedestal shall be equipped with bearings so that the roller journal can rotate in it. In addition, grooved wooden brackets can also be used to support the corrugated roller journal. However, when using a wooden bracket, it is best to fix it on the base with large weight and volume to prevent the wooden bracket from overturning accidentally

3. Good lighting

good lighting is very important in the evaluation of corrugated rollers, but it is often easy to be ignored. In many printing workshops, the so-called good lighting is to install more fluorescent lamps above the inspection area. It is better to mark out a separate area and use a light source that is comparable to the lighting conditions in the inspection area for lighting, so as to carry out comparative inspection on the printing sheets

other tools that need to be prepared include gear spatula, 100x optical magnifying glass, tape measure, marking label (for marking the damaged area), retractable scraper (for scraping the dry matter on the end face of the texturing roller) and medium-sized coarse tooth file (for removing burrs on the keyway). Use a micrometer of one tenth of an inch to detect the wear of the journal and bearing surface. If the corrugated roller journal has a thread stopper, it is best to purchase a set of thread inspection tools (for inspecting the thread part of the Journal) for April

in addition, it is easy to prepare a set of stamping dies and hammers to engrave marks on the embossing roller. Most of the corrugated rollers have been stamped with serial numbers by the manufacturer when they leave the factory, but after repeated cleaning of the corrugated rollers for several times, the numbers and other figures will become blurred. Especially if the side scraper is used, the end face of the corrugated roller may be excessively worn, which will make the original number and line number ambiguous. Therefore, it is necessary to reprint the marks after the roller is used for a period of time to ensure that the important information is clearly visible

it is also very important to distinguish the wrinkle roll by the serial number and line number recorded in the record book. Any damage or defect on the surface of the corrugated roller shall be recorded in the record book, and the damage location and extent shall be clearly marked. The contents recorded in the record book can enable the operator to quickly understand the status of the wrinkle roll and know which wrinkle roll needs priority treatment. If the record shows that more than one group roll has the same type of damage, the operator should be vigilant and the cause of the corrugation roll damage should be thoroughly investigated
